Hello BurnT Community!

There will be an election in the near future for one of the five seats on the board of directors for our community non profit – Burnt OUT Interactive Arts Society. As a member of the board you will be expected to attend monthly board meetings and organize the AGM, help organize and run events by picking leads and monitoring their progress, and to help guide and improve the toronto burner community. The terms last for 2 years. For more information on what the position entails, check out our by-laws on the BurnT website: http://burntoronto.ca/by-laws/

The plan is to run the election as the last few have been run. Here is the timeline:

Now – May 15th – information will be posted about how the board election process will work. This will include how to register to vote, what the roles are and what is involved, and how to nominate/apply.

May 15th – nominations/applications begin.
May 27th at midnight – nominations of others ends.
May 29th at midnight – self nominations/acceptance of nominations from others ends.

June 1st – announcement of candidates for election, voting begins.
June 10th – registration ends at the end of today at midnight
June 15th – voting ends at the end of today at midnight.
June 17th – announcement of election results
